Artist Residency

Contours ArteCalle

Contours ArteCalle is a decolonial feminist publication, hosted by the University of Minnesota Libraries Publication Services, and is a sequel to Contours: Arts, Activism, Pathways. The Contours ArteCalle Artist Residency in Cuba was comprised of artists, activists, and scholars. Through workshops, performances, artistic experiences, and knowledge sharing, the collective collaboratively created pieces in English and Spanish which were shared in a day long festival with the community at Casa Tomada MirArte. The residency built relationships among primarily Black and Latina women and gender expansive people of the Americas, and uplifted Black Doll Makers, AfroFeminists, and activists working specifically within HIV/AIDS education.
