The goal of this interdisciplinary art festival based in the Hampshire College Art Gallery was to help facilitate connections on campus by using the arts as a catalyst for community building and collective learning. Artists of any form were invited to submit to this festival resulting in a diverse group of artistic works surrounding themes of home, self care, and identity among other things. Additionally, anyone visiting the gallery was invited to be an artist themselves by attending one of the art making workshops happening throughout the week or by contributing to the interactive installations on the gallery walls at any time. By accepting all art forms and encouraging art making in the space this festival sought to redefine who and what belongs in a gallery setting and bring people together through making. 

The gallery itself was filled mostly with interactive and collaborative installations that I designed for visitors to contribute to throughout the run of the festival, some of which were inspired by workshops that would happen in the space. The visual art that was submitted to the festival was interspersed between these installations to help fill the space and showcase some of the great work being produced on campus. A video monitor with recordings of some of the festivals performing artists played in the front of the gallery allowing even the more ephemeral art forms to be a part of the gallery show itself.

The festival was scheduled to have a visit from children at the Early Learning Center, four different art making workshops led by different students, faculty, and staff members, two evenings of performance, and a closing reception celebrating everything that had been created throughout the week.
